USGoBuy Overcharging shipping costs Internet
When my package finally arrived at the warehouse (it should have arrived on a Friday at 9.15, but because the business was closed, the package had to be redelivered and dit not arrive until Monday evening) the information on the website said that the package had an actual weight of 2.268 kg and a dimensional weight of 1.762 Kg.
This did not seem right to me, so I sent an email asking about this. I also asked for a quick response since I wanted the package delivered as soon as possible (especially since they already caused me an initial delay of several days).
I got a reply after about 24 hours telling me that the actual weight was 1.762 Kg and that the "weight in the system" was 2.268 Kg. There was no explanation to what "weight in the system" refers to. Maybe this is just the standard ripoff added weight that USGoBuy normally charges their customers?
I sent a new email asking if they claimed that the dimensional weight was 2.268 kg, which I knew could not be the case. (The package contained beauty products and such package never have a dimensional weight that is higher than the actual weight.) I again asked for a quick response since I really wanted these items shipped immediately. After 24 hours and no response I decided to have the items shipped, even though they were certainly overcharging me for this! I figure they would not answer my email and just let the package sit there until I took action and I did not want to risk having the packaging mysteriously go "missing".
After the package was shipped I could see that DHL says that the billable weight is 1.769 Kg. For this package USGoBuy charged me 78 USD, i.e. the price for 2.268 Kg. Even if they had not overcharged me, the price would have been way higher than what other mail forwarding companies would charge. I do not know how I did not see that before using them, maybe they raised their rates recently? The same package would, for example, have cost 34 USD with MyUs.
Also, the company only accepts Paypal even though they have the logos of VISA, Mastercard etc. on their website.
I certainly will not use USGoBuy again and I encourage everyone to stay away from them! Not only are they really expensive, their customer service is useless as well.

After I had filed the above report and sent another e-mail to USGoBuy I did receive a reply where they appologized for the trouble and misundestandings. I have received a refund of the amount that was overcharged, and they also refunded the difference between the fastest shipping alternative I used and the least expensive slower one I would have used if there had been no delays in the handling.
So in the end, I am happy with how things resolved, it did take quite a few e-mails though.
