Yet ANOTHER incident with USPS. Well i buy ALOT of stuff online, mostly because i sell on ebay. I buy large amounts in wholesale and sell it for 2x as much. So for the third time in 6 or 7 months, the local post office has not delivered my packages. This time, it is $300 worth of merchandise that i am missing.

I had a tracking number, which said my package was delivered to the USPS in Norwood,MA, on Feb. 9th, but i never recieved it. It is now the 15th, and still nothing. The post office claims there is now no record of my tracking number, and they have no idea where my package is. They are also claiming i did not have insurance, which i did. I made sure i paid extra for it- i always do this.

My package was shipped on the 4th, so even though it hasnt been TOO long, the point is that i know I'm never going to recieve it, and there goes over $300 down the drain, for the third time in less than a year.

I am in the process of looking for a lawyer, even though there goes more of my money out the window, i am so mad i dont even care. I want to do whatever it takes to get back at these f***** morons.

Steve,
first off- i did state in my description that i HAD insurance. the post office argued with me and said i didnt

Second, i am NOT cheap, and did not pay the cheapest amount for shipping, i paid a whopping $50 for shipping, to have it sent priority, and for tracking/insurance.

Third, i have a PO box, im not a moron. obviously i know packages can be stolen outside. i do not have any mail delivered to my house.
I have been ordering online for years, i am aware of these things.

So all i have to say is wow i will never log into this website again, bunch of jerks on here. way to make assumptions and rude sassy comments.
Im a salesperson, not an idiot thank you very much.

"They are also claiming i did not have insurance, which i did. I made sure i paid extra for it- i always do this."

It's up to the sender of the package to buy the insurance. If you paid the seller extra for it, get them to file a claim. You might find the seller just pocketed your money, or they have a seperate shipping insurance company. The SENDER needs to file a report with USPS. If you feel the packages are being stolen contact the postmaster of your local post office. If they won't/can't/don't help, file a report with the postal inpector. http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/

I've shipped 3000+ packages USPS and can only recall one that didn't make it to the destination.

Here is the root of the problem for the OP.

Rachel,

The problem is, you did not protect yourself in the tranasction. Nowhere did you mention having insurance on the shipment or signature confirmation. Either one of these, or both would have solved the problem.

However, you had it shipped by the cheapest means possible, with no protection. You wanted cheap, so you got cheap. You get what you pay for.

How do you know that USPS never delivered your packages? If they were sent without signature confirmation and/or insurance, and you were not home, the package can be left by your door, legally! This means that someone else could pick it up after it was delivered.

Also, you should look into a private mailbox service for security of your mail and packages.

No ripoff here.

Hiring an attorney is probably not worth your added cost at all.

And you will not teach anybody anything.

I would visit the highest ranking USPS person you can find, smile, and ask for their generous help. Honey & flies, you know.

Meanwhile can you try FedEx or UPS? These are not fail-proof but you might be happier.

I have had a few things shipped FedEx to USPS to here. The FedEx tracking is, in this case, accessed differently.

USPS tracking never seems to work very well. It is always seemed either 'behind' or unrelated to reality.
