Complaint Review: ASWR $TOUR

I recently received 2 letters with enclosed checks as partial payments for my lottery winnings. Both Letters are postmarked from Canada, and contain a US addressed letter head. The telephone number 647-219-6728 belonging to one of 3 claims representatives,
Sean Peter, Susane Anderson, or Cameron McCuaig, is a toronto cell phone number. The claim number associated with my prize is 4263DAW. I read a report earlier with the same contact names, claim number and prize amount. One of the letters asked me to submitt a payment for the taxes on my winnings. I looked up the US address on the letter head, and it belongs to United States Steel Corporation (USS), but the address on the letter is (USSC). Why would a steel company be part of a lottery? The letter was poorly written, and had many errors. Words were typed on top of one another as if they were typed on a typewritter by someone inexperienced. The was no attempt to be professional. The letter was written almost all the way to the bottom of the page, and there was no concern about margins. The checks in both letters are associated with Mellon Bank, Pittsburgh PA. I did find records for such a bank. The Return address on the envelope is ASWR $ TOUR, 1045 Wharncliffe Road, South London, ON N6L 1J9. only 1 of the 2 letters had a return address. The 1st letter was addressed, Dear Sir or Madame:
If I won, and they had my address, why was the letter addressed this way?

After reading other reports, I am convinced this is hoax/scam. I hope I help someone else realize they have been scammed before it is too late.
