Complaint Review: Vacation play

Vacation play offered me a 3 night stay in Hilton Head SC for $120 (that I would get back in discounts and refunds) - don’t believe that if I attended a 90 minute presentation the morning after I arrived. They offered me an upgrade to a hotel at the beach for $379 which I agreed to. Now I am not a stupid person but I fell for it. When I arrived with my son and young granddaughter we were charged additional fees by the hotel about $30 per night. I was scheduled for the following afternoon (even though I was told morning), I did not have a beach view although that was part of the upgrade. No microwave, a fridge that didn’t work and outlets with exposed wiring that could have seriously injured my young granddaughter. Upon complaints to the hotel (which claimed to be a Holiday Inn) I was treated rudely by the staff and nothing was fixed. The following day I was bed ridden with illness and I already suffer with chronic health problems. I called to reschedule my "meeting time” with them only to be told it wasn’t possible, they were far too busy, and because I wasn’t attending they would be charging my credit card an additional $200. We left early the following day because we just couldn’t stay under unsafe conditions and my still unsettled illness. I called vacation play as instructed to let them know we were not staying the additional day I paid for out of pocket as a part of my upgrade and well you know by now they would not refund any of my money but they did have the audacity to offer me two days free on any Wednesday in the future. This very bad lapse in judgement cost me approximately $800+ just paid to vacation play (excluding gas and food) for 2 days in hell. Don’t spend a dime! Don’t believe a word! They will rip you off!!
