Complaint Review: Vacation Station - Prize Claims Center

I received a message from Paul at 877-256-7894, asking me to call back because I had won a prize. I called the number and got Paul's director who told me that they drew my name in a contest I'd signed up for and that I'd definitely get one of these four prizes:

1.) 2004 Lexus SUV or $30K cash option,
2.) 2004 Tahoe or $25K cash option,
3.) All expenses paid trip for 2 including airfare to Jamaica or Cancun and that the trip IS transferable,
4.) 27 HDTV.

He said that the call was being recorded by the State of Kansas to make sure that he was giving me straight information for both of our protection. He said that it was NOT a time share sales pitch but that I needed to be there with my spouse for a 90 minute presentation and we could decline and still win our prize. He said, We don't give away toaster ovens or steak knives the cheapest/worst thing you could walk away with is the 27 HDTV!!

He went on and on about their credentials and how the cars given away on The Price Is Right is from their company, etc. and that I had absolutely won and needed to be willing to stay a little later to get the paperwork done on the vehicle if I won that because no matter what I won, it would be given to me that day.

My husband and I went. They called me on my cell phone to confirm our appt., but I had never given them my cell phone number.

#1: It IS a time-share presentation. They're $7,000. We didn't stay for the whole thing.

#2: The trip (with all sorts of requirements) is to either Las Vegas or Orlando and costs $199 extra per person if you choose Cancun (no Jamaica) and it is NOT TRANSFERABLE like he said it was.

#3: There were very few HDTV scratch off tickets (and I doubt ANY Lexus or Tahoes).

Just so you know... if these people call you, you didn't win. They did. Protect your cell # on the Do Not Call List!
