We booked a chalet in Jan of 2014 in Franklin Maine. Good price, nice looking building, good online reviews. Booked for Mid June arrival. Tried to reach the landlord about a month before, no response by email, after multiple inquires. 2 weeks before, tried calling. Phone is disconnected. Tried white pages for owner, disconnected. Tried to get help from Vacation Rentals.com, (lots of guarantees on the web site), no response from vacatyionrentals.com at all. Leaving in 2 days, booked another cabin, looks like we are out our deposit. So much for their guarantees.
