i recieved a letter with a check{authentic looking}made out in my name in the amount of $3998.00 today.the letter explains i had been hired to be a mystery shopper. there are specific instructions on where, how much to spend along with instuctions to send the majority of the money in a money gram to a specific person.

this letter explains to keep purchased merchandise as a bonus and the remainder is my salary. there is a telephone number to call and in fact they direct you to call, here is where it gets good. when calling the number, it is a recording to nowhere. there is also a fax number which i sent a fax to with no response back.

i have been looking for work and figured i had maybe checked out this avenue in my many hours of searching online. i am desperate for income but thankfully i am not a trusting person at all.

here is the deal, you deposit the check in your account and proceed with their instructions, you may write a check to purchase at the store they send you to, then you send the money gram to their designee.

now you have a bounced check at the store and the bounced check at the bank and who ever "they" are just got paid by you from the money gram that just cost you the amount of the check plus!!!!!

Please beware people these are very hard times for many of us and these sleezy scammers are pouncing

I received the identical letter & check in the mail. With all the media coverage of scams like this, why can't these people be prosecuted? Especially sending letters through the US mail??? I find this totally amazing!!!
