Complaint Review: Value City Furniture

In August of 2005 I purchase $2500.00 worth of furniture from a St Louis value city furniture store under the guise of six months same as cash. I questioned the store on several occassions, including just before signing, about wether the same as cash option was included and was assured that it was.

About four months later I contacted my finance company to try and pay off my balance and discovered a $254.00 discrepancy between what I thought I owed and what they thought I owed. I do not mention the finance company because it is in no way there fault, they have been nothing but professional throughout.

Upon contacting value city furniture I was told that indeed the option was not on the account and that I would have to deal with the finance company as there was nothing they could or would do. I was also told that I should have brought it to their attention earlier and that I should read what I sign more carefully. This absolutely infuriated me, and basically there is nothing that I can do except eat the $$$$.

I will share this horrible experience with all who will listen and hope that it will cost value city furniture more in lost business than they gained by screwing me.
