Van Hyundai tried to force me to resign papers adding an Administrative Fee of $6000.00 Carrollton, , Texas
On 15 March 2010, I went into the dealership to purchase a vehicle. I was approved, signed a contract after about 5 hours there and left with the vehicle. On the 30th of March, 2010, I received a phone call that I needed to come in and resign papers. I stated to the salesman, "For What?" And he stated he did not know and that finance did not tell him anything. When my daughter and I arrived at the dealership, it was approximately, 830pm - 845pm. I went into the dealership and sat with my sales guy and then, the finance guy came in and stated that, they had a problem with my loan. The lender wanted to charge an administrative fee for $6000.00....I stated to both of the guys that I was not going to resign any papers, that I needed to think about it. The finance guy became very forceful and was trying to bully me and they both made me feel really uncomfortable. The finance guy stated that I had to make a decision that night. He told me that why they did not tell me on the phone was because they figured I would be out car shopping somewhere else, which I would have but I needed the money that I had given then to make a deal. I told them that they just cannot call me into the office and just demand I make a decision right then and there and that I did not feel that they were handling me nor this situation correctly. I got up out of my chair and left. I called my sales guy to see if they had resolve this issue and what where they planning to do about the papers that I had already signed. He stated he did not know. I told him that I was not going to resign another contract. I asked if they had ran my check and he stated that he thought they had. I went to the bank and closed my account to stop them from getting any cash. I had already endured spending money on full coverage which I knew I could not get back. On 7 April 2010, I received a call stating that I had written a bad check when actuality, I closed to protect my money. They wanted me to give them back the car which would perclude me from getting another car somewhere else and I could not afford that to happen. These people are a Rip-Off. They pray on single women and try to bully people into contract. They showed me the approval before I left there and to run my check when they knew that I was not going to resign a contract and to try to take advantage of me is and was wrong. Bad Business

The bogus, add-on, phoney fee CONGAME is a mainstay in the sleazy American car business. A $6000 administrative fee from the lender? No, it was from this car dealer slime!
You did perfectly!

What you should have done is authorize that one car payment then after the bank gave you your new account number, mail your car payments with a hand written check from your new checking account from then on. If you don't make your payments the loan company can and will reposses the car.
Do you have copies of your original car loan agreement? What those papers say is what you bought the car for. They dealer legally cant just say oops, you owe $6000 more than the papers you signed.
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING NEW. My bet is that after the sale someone realized the car was worth more than a new agent sold it to you for. They can't come back and charge you $6000 more than the original contract for their stupidity.
Make your payment so they cant repossess and ask a parent, friend, sibling, neighbor to look at your original papers if you dont understand them.
Look up the car on kbb.com and see what it is worth. Click Go in the Used Car pane, fill out the info and see what the car is worth. If the car is worth $6000 more than you paid, lucky you. If they keep bugging you or you cant afford the monthly payments anymore, sell the car, pay off the loan and use their stupidity to pay cash for a car.
Lucky us, 4 years ago we paid $3500 cash for a 2001 Ford with 48,000 miles on her and she looks like showroom new. I have her up to 53,000 miles now, she is still showroom new and kbb says she is worth $3875., $375 more than we paid 4 years ago.
