Vanderbilt Mortgage has employees who like to verbally abuse the customers who are the reasons they have jobs. I feel behind on my mortgage last month, and sent them a partial payment last week. I told the girl i would have the whole balance, 230.00 cleared by by next week, and I will pay some on August 2011 payment, at the same time. Mind you the payments are only 430.00 per month. I have been unemployed and My husband gets paid every two weeks. I tried to explain to her that I will have the rest of the money, and when this has happened in the past, I have always caught up. I wont lose my home. Back in March we had a house fire, which required claims on insurance which we had been paying on for seven years to remodel and repair. Well the girl who called me yesterday, the account rep reminded me how they had to defer the payment from April, due to it being late, or else we could not get our insurance funds. I told her that didnt matter. I am concerned because I believe they have to go through the legal system to foreclose, but she demanded 600 by August 30, and told me to borrow the money. I cant believe a person could treat someone like that. I could see if it was one of those mickey mouse loan companies, but why would a place such as this threaten their customers. I tried to tell her I would be all caught up before September 15th and she did not want to hear that. I am so sick of fighting with this bunch. I have always given them their money, and I dont know why she would attack me for 230.00. By the time they send me a default notice, a week later it will be caught up. legally they cant just take my home for no reason, Is there anybody who can help us in this dilemma of harassment. I told her we had to use some of our own money to finish fixing the house, and had some unexpected er expenses, which were not avoidable, and I promised her i would fix this. i pleaded with her. she was mean, nasty and hateful.

Your title is misleading and it is very apparent that you have some mis-conceptions as to what your obligations are.  First of all unlike your report title that say they don't treat their customers who pay with respect, you did not make your payment as agreed.

Then in two points in this report you seem to be unaware of (or unwilling to accept) the ramifications of your payment history.  It appears that you have been late in the past and had to have at least one deferment.

You told them that because you had to defer your payments in April it didn't matter, and later on you say that they legally can't take your home for no reason.

Well I have news for you.  Your payment history DOES matter, and being delinquent IS a reason to foreclose on your house.  It really does not matter who the lender is.  But if you have a history of late FULL payments over time they are going to be less and less willing to work with you.  It looks like this lender is getting sick of your partial payments.

By the way if your mortgage is honestly only short $200, you can get a job even one at Minimum Wage would make up this difference with only a few hours a week.    Yes if you really looked I bet you could find one, it may not be glamorous but at least you could make your house payments.  If you keep it you could easily build up a "nest egg" to get you through other rough patches.
