David purchased a Sherline Milling machine from me to mill his mods. He sounded like an excellent person when I first started talking to him. But he ended up chewing me down $200 on the mill and asking me to give him phone support, which I did, over and over and over again. I had it up for $1900.00. He ended up paying $1700, $1650 of which I received due to paypal fees. I packed it up and sent it to him. According to him, it arrived damaged. So I ask him to let me know all of the damage and paid him back a total of $239. So now he received a cnc mill from me that I paid $2500.00 for, for $1461.00. So then I ask him to help me out when I file my insurance claim with the Post Office. No problem he says. Okay, a week goes by and I receive my papers in the mail via the PO, (cannot use the online claim form b/c the page has not worked in months), and I start filling them out. Now I need proof of repaired parts. I go ahead and inform Mr. Lipford that I need the proof that those parts needed to be repaired, asking him for the receipts. At first there is an initial delay in answering me. Then he texts me back asking me, "what receipts, I did it online?" I told him that Sherline gives you an invoice on everything you purchase. Another delay, 24 hours. He gets back to me and tells me that he will send them. Another delay, 12 hours. "David, where are the receipts"? He texts back, "mowing the lawn". Another 12 hours, "David, do you have the receipts or not?" No answer since then. It's been a week now. David Lipford obviously never needed the parts so nor did he purchase them. So here I am, out $239, trying to feed my family by selling my belongings, and this kid got over on me. He lives with his parents and is a spoiled little brat. And he has no idea how to use that mill, he was asking me the most trivial questions, such as how do you get the end mill holder off? I helped him nonetheless and now when I need help getting the money back for insurance, he completely ignores me. He is a liar and cannot be trusted. All he cares about is making money, not making people happy. Do not trust this child. He has not learned enough in this world to know how to deal with people. He is still a litle boy.

Who's the scam artist here?

#3UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Hi,

I am an employee of Vaporlips. David, the owner, told me how he found your complaint online here. I've been working with David since around the time he got the CNC Sherline Mill from you a few months ago. We work hard everyday and I can say, firsthand, that Dave's one of the hardest working and precise guys I've ever worked with at any job. You say that he ripped you off of your mill. Then in your next complaint you try to tell would be customers of our company that there was damage to the mill. Those two things contradict. David spent over a week fixing that mill up while running Vaporlips; which means milling, powder coating, ordering, installing, constant customer support, etc. The list is really endless and it makes the finished product worth it. It seems that your complaint is just based on the fact that you sold a damaged product to someone and wanted to juice more money out of it then it was really worth. That's unfair. Business has been thriving anyways and continues to grow daily, which is awesome. And I'll give credit where it's due; I'm glad we have the CNC Mill to do engravings and mill boxes now. It's been a giant addition to our work really. However, it wouldn't be possible at all, if Dave hadn't spent the time replacing parts on it and talking to Sherline to troubleshoot all the problems we were having with the precision of the mill you sold him. I hope all your business endeavors go better. Time's are tough for sure, which is another reason it hurts to see my place of work being falsely accused of scamming someone, who isn't even our customer and we honestly felt scammed by initially; being that the mill sold to us was damaged to the point where it was useless for making precision engravings or even mill straight lines. Thanks for your time, whoever reads this,

Will

I would also like to note that anybody purchasing from this seller, the mill that he is using is not in the best condition. Apparently the y axis is damaged pretty badly and if you try to mill something with the dovetail in such bad shape, it will come out with defects. These mills are made with the utmost precision and require this precision in order to manufacture quality parts. The fact is, this young man should have done things the right way instead of being greedy. Greed in business leads to unhappy customers and ultimaely failure. Please beware all buyers dealing with David Lipford.
