I signed up for a 99cent one day trial for a video download service at ZML.COM. I was suspicious because the site showed the MASTERCARD SECURECARD logo, but did not take me through their authorisation process. I phoned my credit card provider and discovered that GBP35.68 had been immediately charged to my credit card without my authorisation. It was lucky I checked as the website terms and conditions states that refunds will not be made after 48 hours or if you have made use of their services (i.e. downloaded a movie). Nowhere during the signup process was mention made of any charge in excess of the 99cents nor any commitment to any ongoing subscription. What is the point of having a one day trial to test the quality of service if the user is automatically made a subscriber from day one?? I sent a request for a refund via the support form on the ZML.COM website and received a reply with a link to a complaint ticket at IN2VIDEO.NET (who the heck are they?) which, when clicked gave me a 'page not found' error. I checked the whois record for IN2VIDEO.NET and discovered that the domain is suspended. There is a link to a subscription cancelation form via the ZML.COM website (History Of Payments option) and I have cancelled the subscription (which I never agreed to). I have raised a dispute with my credit card provider to have the initial charge refunded, but I have to go through a longwinded form filling exercise before they will do so. In addition, they refused to cancel my card as I had signed up to a subscription service(!!!) even though I explained that the website had taken the initial payment and enrolled me as a subscriber fraudulently . Only time will tell if my credit card it debited further amounts and passed on to identity theft scams. Be warned, do not touch ZML.COM at any cost.
