Thanks to Alfred E. for report number 71389 on VectorSoft Conversion Services, or Vector Logistics Inc. (same thing I think)!

I thought something was fishy with the outfit when I discovered that they don't actually have any staff of their own in Chicago, Illinois.

It's one of those places anyone can rent a staffed office so that it appears as though they have an address there.

I too heard the story about the 200 engineers in all the different disciplines. But when you ask to meet with one of them, you're told about 'tight security', 'confidentiality', 'different offices in different locations' etc. In other words you can't see these people. That now makes sense with report 71389.

I suppose you can't go to see the work being done because it's not only not being done in the US, it's not even being done in Canada. If that is the case, the work is being outsourced somewhere altogether different, which raises security questions.

Thanks rip-off reports and bad business bureau for the warning!

Indian Vendors now looking for VectorSoft to collect bills? Thank You, Rip-off Report!

#3UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, August 17, 2004

Neither rip-off report about VectorSoft on here:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff71869.htm
nor
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff71389.htm
I can really dispute. I have no evidence to the contrary.

As a former employee, I was contacted today by one of the Indian vendors of conversion services, who was listed in here as being a supplier to VectorSoft. He was looking for a suggestion of how to get a local lawyer to get help in collecting on about US$4,000.00 in receivables that are overdue. He also stated that he knew the other 7 vendors to VectorSoft, some of whom are in India and others in similar countries (similar in average annual income per capita).

One of his competitors, who he says also sold conversion services to VectorSoft, is owed around US$10,000.00. Since my last rebuttal on this system, Mr. Hughes has presented me with another legal challenge, which he lost. All I can say is CAVEAT EMPTOR, and to ripoffreports.com, thanks and keep up the good work!

Work goes to India, Profits to Canada, Classic CNN - Lou Dobbs "Exporting America" Case

#3Consumer Comment

Wed, March 24, 2004

We were looking for pricing to convert our drawings from paper into CAD files. Since Lou Dobbs on CNN's regular reports about Exporting America, I became suspicious about just where this work was being done. VectorSoft is not the only such service, that Lou reports on, where what should be American jobs wander off to India.

The difference here is that there is a US front company and that not even any of the profits remain in the US. The detour to India goes through Canada. This became painfully obvious, when we asked to meet with the people who actually do the work. Suddenly, there is nobody to talk to in the US. The people are in Canada, not the Chicago office.

Here's how anyone can get a front office and make it look like he's in a high-profile US business location: Go to hq.com. There is nothing essentially wrong with this service, except that foreigners can use it to make the rest of us think that there is a legitimate US company, paying taxes right here. Needless to say, VectorSoft HAS NO EMPLOYEES in the US that we could find. They're all in Canada. But that's not where the work is being done, it appears, because why else would they have all sorts of stories to tell about why you can't go and see the people who are working on your project.

Here are the excuses: We have a number of locations. or this one: It's a highly secure environment. Nobody's allowed in because of security concerns. We do nuclear work and we have to maintain security. The list goes on. But what we have here is a textbook case of work that goes to India and profits that go to Canada. Look on their site though, vectorsoftlimited.com or vector-logistics.com, and it looks like the have a US head office. But that is pure fantasy and following it could be described as economic treason.
