Vehicle Vortex Michael Jamison Proposes to Market Your Car on 15-20 Websites and Provide Financing for Prospective Buyers Internet
I was contacted by Michael Jamison (real name unknown) who claimed to provide a marketing service for expensive vehicles by providing financing to potential buyers. The marketing work that was to be undertaken consisted of listing the sellers vehicle for sale on a 10 or more sites specifically directed to buyers looking for a specific make and model. He also claimed that he had potential interested customers obtained through phone contacts. Ads would also be listed on AutoTrader and Kijiji and be relisted 2 to 3 times per week to ensure the ad was not lost in the back pages on the websites.
Although he claimed to be located in Calgary a domain search on Whois for Vehicle Vortex revealed that the website owner was actually located in the US at the following address:

Attempts to contact the individual have been unsuccessful and the telephone number listed on the website appears to be a fax.

I randomly contacted 5 other sellers with ads listed on the Vehicle Vortex website and none of them had received any of the marketing services paid for. The fees paid ranged from $100 t0 $495 and the transactions were made through email transfer to Vehicle Vortex.
This is an outright scam and I have filed a police report.
