Hello,
I am writing this to let you know that Ventura Toyota takes advantage of people and they are not to be trusted.  Their work is sloppy, their customer service is bland.  They are not respectful if they do not get their way they are pathetic and disgusting.  I apologize I am upset.  To get straight to the point:

I was solicited online to visit the dealer.  I had initially inquired about possibly leasing a vehicle.  I could not get any specific answers online so I headed to the dealer in the evening.  The sales man that set up the appointment online with me asked me to be there at a specific time.  I agreed I would meet him there.

When I arrived that salesman left for the day.  He probably forgot about our arrangement.  I asked for assistance and the sales person they introduced me to could not give me any information about leasing a vehicle because he state "I probably know as much as you do Bro"  I asked to speak to a manager.

He was maybe about 5'8'', little heavy set, tan skin, dark hair, drives a leased prius (white).  Anyhow this guy explains to me that leases are simple.  To choose a car if you qualify for it you can drive it off the lot if you dont like it bring it back anytime and you can swap it out.  You can even purchase the car anytime within your lease or purchase it at the end.

He said leases are affordable and they are better for you.  Because your building a relationship with toyota and you will always enjoy the pleasure of driving new vehicles.  So I liked the idea, I qualified for a car.  He put me in the car he chose for me not the one I wanted.  I told him I wanted a particular model he said it would be better for me to get the model he wanted me to get because it had a rebate.

I told him that sounds great but I really dont know what I am doing I dont have any friends around here and I have never purchased a car before.  He laughed and said dont worry I will take care of you.  So, he writes up the deal,  he takes my rebate, and my military rebate and he writes up the contract for a 5 year lease, I asked him why five years he said because it helps your credit and because you can come speak to us to adjust it any time.  I thought well thats pretty cool.

So I asked why are you taking the rebates, he said it will help lower your payments, I said ok that sounds cool too.  Then he proceeded to add an additional $10,000 cost at the end of the lease if I decide to purchase.  He put me in a vehicle that was worth much less.  He said the vehicle had a free 2 year warranty but he still added additional warranties that were expensive.

At that point I wanted to leave and I couldnt leave I wanted to but I couldnt everytime I wanted to go he said we dont have to help you I am have here showing you vehicles its 1130 at night I could be with my kids instead I am assisting you into getting into a great car.  You can afford it....  I said I dont think I can $afford  $524.00 for a standard vehicle put me in a limited or something like that and then maybe.

He said if you feel like you cant cut the payments just bring it back and we can adjust it you have my word.  I said ok. He then went to talk to his salesmen and they started laughing, that is when I felt like sucker, (yes, you can offer constructive criticsm you can say call me an idiot)  but you know something I really went in there with a clear conscience a good heart hoping to find assistance with great customer service.  Instead I felt like I was humilitated, insulted, they made me feel like: what? you cant afford it? I felt like he took advantage of me.  I understand he has to feed his family but so do I. I understand this is business.  Yet is it HONEST and FAIR?  Is it good PRACTICE?

After two months I went back and said you know I would like to renegotiate, so I dont ruin my finances, they said sure we can help you.  When we sat down and crunched the numbers, they wanted 10,000 down, $500 a month on a vehicle that was even smaller than the first one.  I was really discouraged  I lost hope.  It came down to pay for the car and get a second job to feed my kids, I am active duty, its hard to get a second job with a rough schedule.  My wife cant work at the moment.  I felt depressed. I simply couldnt afford it.  I stopped making payments.... after 5months.

Now I have to figure out how to keep my job.   Iam debating voluntary repo/ or wait for repo?  I am debating BANKRUPTCY or Debt Solution, seriously I started off upset with these guys.  I just feel like now I want to vent and get this off my chest.  You know.  I forgive myself for not being wise and bringing a friend or someone to help me with the purchase or lease of this new car.  I forgive the salesman for lying to me and taking advantage of my ignorance.

I will share this with you all so you are aware.   I share this in hopes some lawyer can reach out to me and give me advice.  Would I recommend VENTURA TOYOTA TO ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY MEMBERS? NO.  Would I recommend them?  NO.

I called TOYOTA of NORTH HOLLYWOOD  I explained my situation, they told me: We I apologize that you experienced that.  For that price we could of placed you in a much nicer vehicle instead of that basic model.

BE ADVISED: GO TO ANOTHER DEALER>  VENTURA TOYOTA IS NO GOOD.

You can type in 505850 at this site and go to Ripoff Report #505850 in order to see that Tanya was able to upload copies of her contract.

I simply found it a bit odd that you did not include the type of Toyota vehicle in your Ripoff Report. One would think that a person who had a complaint would include more information, especially since you stated the following: "I share this in hopes some lawyer can reach out to me and give me advice."

Lawyers are usually looking for as much information as possible before helping someone, wouldn't you agree? Why not include the names of everyone at the dealership who was involved in your transaction? If what you are stating is true, then putting people's names, dates, the vehicle identification number, selling price of the vehicle, model, picture of the vehicle, copies of the lease agreement, etc., would be more helpful to a lawyer, right?

I know for a fact that Toyota dealerships take advantage of their customers. They specifically like to target Hispanics, African Americans, women, the elderly, and anyone who is not an educated buyer. I know for a fact that most Toyota managers are unethical and will even take advantage of their own salespeople.

I even know that Toyota Corporate will go out of their way to protect their dealer network, even after they are alerted to the unethical and illegal acts that are taking place at Toyota dealerships. Toyota Corporate and their dealer network are only interested in 'profits'. They DO NOT CARE about HOW these profits are made.

I can prove EVERYTHING that I say at this website with hard evidence, subpoenaed evidence, and much more.

Have a nice day.

"Please provide a copy of your lease agreement that shows the monthly payment and also include a complete description of the vehicle. (Model, year, etc)"

I will do my best to upload the Lease Agreement,  I will have to see if I can:

"Please note that rebuttals should NOT contain any of the following:

 - Profanity, obscenity, threats of violence, racist remarks, false statements, personal information(i.e. social security numbers, credit card numbers, home address(es) or phone numbers), or any other information which violates Ripoff Report's Terms of Service;
- Rumors, speculation, or innuendo unless you have personal knowledge that your statements are true;"

1) Was it a new vehicle?  Yes.

2) What was the MSRP?   (TBD)  I will go home and check the paperwork, I believe it was around $24,000.(Do not quote me on this price, I will provide an accurate one once I find the paperwork.)

3) Model of the Vehicle:  (Mini SUV TYPE)  They dont have many.

4) Down Payment?  Vehicle Rebate+Military Rebate.  (Estimated $1500, again I will have to find the paperwork.)

"Something seems odd about your RipoffReport.  You were able to immediately describe the manager, but you gave very little information about the vehicle you leased."

I did that to protect my Personal Identifiable Information;  I dont know these guys on a personal level (meaning: toyota salesmen)  I am being cautious and I am also complying with RipOff Reports Terms of Service.

Final question: Do you work for Toyota of North Hollywood?  No.

Very Respectfully,

B.S. I don't know your name but let me tell you something about the auto industry and leases.  I have a couple questions for you that will make sense. If a car is stickered at $20,000 and you plan to buy it would you pay full sticker for the price of $20,000 ?  I am sure that you would want a better price than $20,000 to buy the car. Everybody wants a discount and I don't blame you I would too.
If you lease a car and the car stickered at $20,000 this is what can happen. Now you and I agree that you wouldn't want to pay 20,000 if you were going to buy the car.  If the sales staff have the ability to talk you into a lease. And the only focus on payment And refused to talk to you about the CAP COST. Then you have problems coming your way.   Because they don't want to talk to you about the price that they're selling the car to the leasing company.   They might do what's called Maxing the CAP COST.  In other words they're selling the car that stickered at  $20,000 to the leasing company for up to $22,000. They can legally sell the car to the leasing company for $22,000.  That's $2000 over sticker.  They can also play with the numbers to put more profit in their pocket and stuff you in the lease.

Most of the time it's more profitable for the sales rep to talk you into a lease.  That way maybe in a couple years they can get you to come back and do it again.  And don't think that you can trade out of the lease and not get financially hurt anytime you want to.  More than likely the second sales rep that took over didn't want to give you numbers because he didn't know how the other sales rep had set you up for the kill.  And as far as building a relationship with Toyota they don't care about you having a relationship with them they only care about you buying a car.. And as far as buying a car that the salesman wants to choose for you that's the time you should get up and walk out you were the buyer he is a seller you are the customer. That means you're the boss of what you want to buy if you have the money.  I really need a rip off report that the cells and put you in a five-year lease. Why would he lock you into a five-year lease if he wanted you to have flexibility of buying something else in the near future.

I am willing to bet if you look at your contract that the CAP COST in the contract is a lot more than the sticker price of the car. Anytime the salesman tells you that they can adjust the payments In the contract is telling you to JUST BEND OVER !  Five-year contract is a five-year contract the numbers in the contractor is what you have to pay.  No salesman can adjust the numbers in the contract in the middle of the term.

Personally I think you should post a picture of the dealership maybe go to the dealership and get a mug shot of the guy that sold you the car And update your report and post a picture of his face and his cell phone number in the report.  If Toyotas are so reliable why would you have to buy a extended warranty when you're only going to be in the car for five years ?
Toyota motor Corporation office five years 60,000 miles so there's really no need for the extended warranty. Besides that what happens if they the dealership pays say $450 for the extended warranty and sells it to you for $1800 ? How would you feel about that additional profit going in their pocket .???

Leases are good for people that use them for business purposes that trade every one or two years.  If you're looking for a lower monthly payment sometimes it pays to put money down if you have it or look for used vehicle.
Take a look at the reschedule value that That is the amount that you're going to have to pay for the car at the end of the lease.  So take the residual dollar amount and add up all the monthly payments you've paid during the time you had the car. Add those two numbers up and you'll see how much you will have to pay to have that car titled in your name free and clear.
I guarantee you it will be a hell of a lot more than the sticker price of the car.

Please upload a copy of your lease agreement that shows the monthly payment and also include a complete description of the vehicle. (Model, year, etc.)

If you multiply $524 x 60 months you will come up with a total of $31,440.00 which does not include the residual. The residual is the amount owed on the vehicle at the end of the lease. (A typical residual is around 40% of MSRP for most Toyota vehicles leased over a 60 month period.)

Please provide answers for the following:

1) Was it a new vehicle?
2) What was the MSRP? (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price)
3) Model of vehicle?
4) Down payment?

Something seems odd about your Ripoff Report. You were able to immediately describe the manager, but you gave very little information about the vehicle that you leased.

Final question: Do you work for Toyota of North Hollywood?

Anxiously awaiting your response and a copy of the lease agreement, along with all of the other info. Thank You.
