Complaint Review: Verizion

Hello All. I just found this site and was reading some of Verizons exploits. I just recently signed up with Verizon as my phone carrier after having AT&T. As in local- DSL-and wireless. I have had some minor problems with the cell phone billing but they have been corrected after my calling 3 mths in a row and 4 phone calls later.

My complaint is about their trying to sell you all this stuff you do need and do not want. We wanted our local calling plan to include the area codes in our area[3 of them}. The cheapest plan is called basic and we thought we wanted this one but we were told 2 times by 2 different customer service people that one of the area codes would not be covered in that plan and it would still be a pay call as it was with AT&T.

This plan cost $39.95 but the plan we needed that covers this would cost $59.95 plus tax so we said ok. My son's girlfriend works for Verizon and she has told us of the pressure they are under to sell sell sell .

They could get trips-cars- and large bonuses based on what they sell. She called and had our service returned to the basic plan as it really did cover what we needed but what if we did not have her to correct this then they would have got away with selling us a service we did not want or need just to get a larger sell and a bigger bonus. This is fraud and deceptive selling. Some one needs to look into this.
