Verizon,

On March 10, we arrived home to find our line had no dial tone. After 6 days, and many delays and reschedules, Verizon got our phone service back. Then, our DSL service was unavailable. We used many cell phones minutes to fight with verizon. WE waited and wasted a weekend.
We have been dealing with Vera Gonzales. We have been offered $28.00 for our lack of a phone, and $10 for our lack of a DSL line. Now the airport in my laptop has to be reconfigured. We will once again be routed to the Philippines or somewhere else where it is difficult to understand the Tech. I am certain this will take hours.
Can you give me any reason to stay with Verizon as a customer. My magicjack is already plugged in. I cannot possibly get worse service

From Bad to Worse?

As a Verizon customer myself who has himself seen his share of incompetence and sometimes arrogant customer 'service', I can sympathize with you. Still I wonder if going to majicjack is wise. I mean what is their angle? How can they afford to provide that service for such a low fee?

First of all, instead of a device that hooks up to your gateway or router they plug directly into your computer, thereby gaining a virtual front door to your entire system. Then too, you need to keep your machine running all day if you want your phone to ring. Seems to me that once inside your computer they can access anything there... even put key-logger software there if they want to. It's bad enough to have to have a phone adapter to use the phone (VoIP-type service), but at least it is dedicated to phone use only and stands alone without your puter being on.

I just hope you didn't go from the frying pan into the fire.
