AFter years of overpriced, substandard service and impossibel-to-navigate customer service, I cancelled FIOS TV. shocklingly, no one asked why, even though I had to have been one of their highest paying customers for many years. As they require, I drove to a UPS store and dropped off the obsolete equipment I had rented for more than 5 years. I won't go into detail on why I switched from FIOS TV to Directtv, other thatn to say the change was worth whatever hassle I am undergoing. The problem is my constantly getting billed more than $600 for unreturned equipment. Disregarding for now the fact that the equipment is worthless as it has been replaced with much newer stuff, I cannot get anyone at Verizon to remove the charge for the equipment. It takes 5-10 minutes to get to an actual human at the billing department. Except for the last guy I talked to, they always tell me there is no record of the equipment having been returned. AFter stumbling around, some of the reps have found a record of the returned equipment, but then tell me the serial numbers don't match up. Of course, this isnt my problem, its not like I am manufacturing obsolete verizon equiptment. At leaset 4 times, I have been promised they will "trace" the proble, yet I have NEVER heard back from them. Yet, they are very efficient at billing me month and month for unreturned equipment.
