Verizon Knowingly Selling Defective Phones Nationwide
I warn anyone who is about to purchase a phone or service through verizon to carefully weigh other options before signing up with this company. They are fradulent to the nth degree. They are knowingly selling the Droid 6.0 cellphone with full knowledge that the phone is defective. In fact, they have known this for over two years but they continue to sell the phone to consumers. Additionally, the manufacturer of the phone, Motorola, is in league with Verizon on the scam. Motorola freely admits that the phone is defective, that they do not have a fix, and that Verizon is aware of the issue. The two companies, instead of being forthright with customers, have come up with a "work around" for the problem with the Droid 6.0. Sadly, the work around either does not work at all or is much, much too complicated for the average user.
I have talked (it seems endlessly) with both Verizon and Motorola. In both cases my complaint was "bumped up" to a higher person. That did not help. Here's how they are working the scam: Verizon says that the customer must rely on the manufacturer's warranty. So you have to call the manufacturer - in this case Motorola. Motorola then proceeds to tell you that the seller - in this case Verizon - is well aware of the defect but continues to sell the phone even though they are aware that the manufacturer's warranty is worthless in that Motorola does not have a fix for the issue. So, the best they have been able to do is offer a work around for the problem on the defective phone. Unfortunately, the work around does not work very well if at all. And the work around itself consists of about 6 steps which would be difficult even for a savy user.
Most legitimate companies would have offered and upgrade or have refunded the customer's money. Not Verizon. Their rude, incompetent, service supervisor, more or less said "tough, live with it." His entire role in the complaint process seemed to be to absolutely confirm that I was not going to get any help or relief.
I know the world is a big place and companies no longer care about the individual consumer - goodness, they don't have to - there's more waiting just around the corner. However, fraud is fraud. When you knowingly do something that you know to be wrong or you sell a product that you know does not work as it should, you should have to pay the piper. Just beware that Verizon's cute commercials and their claims of wide-spread coverage do not make up for rude customer service, bad business practices, and out-and-out fraud.

If you don't want to tell us what this horrible defect is of your phone that now apparently may or may not be well known or even all that wide spread, that is up to you.
However, just like you think you are justified to post this report and keeping that information secret this is a PUBLIC web site and the public is just as "justified" in asking for details. This does not make someone an apologist for some company. But your refusal to give any details turns your "RipOff" from fact to OPINION.
For all we know what you are calling a "defect" is an intentional design choice and is not really a "defect" but something that you don't like how it works or think it could be done in a different way. Just as I said before just about every phone as some sort of "complaint". If a company spent the time and "disclosed" every suggestion, rant, complaint, about their phone you would think they are insane(the complaints and not them doing it).
While I am sure you feel YOUR "defect" is critical and one that is worthy of being noted and pointed out to every single consumer, that is how everyone else feels about THEIR complaint.
The funny thing here is that if you are claiming that they are failing to disclose some horrible defect, and if you are coming here to give a warning to the consumer. Then why aren't you taking a REAL step and disclosing what that defect is and truly let people make up their mind on their own. "Alternate Facts" may be the norm according to you...but NO FACTS doesn't give people the freedom to make THEIR OWN CHOICE. Why would I let some random person on the Internet tell me I am not smart enough to set up the work-around? Give me the "defect", and the work around and LET ME decide...you believe in freedom...right?
By the way I do not now, nor have I ever worked for any Cell Phone company. I have never had service with Verizon and my last Motorola phone was one of the original "Flip Phones" I had in the late 1990's.

Nothing in your so-called rebuttal, if that is what is supposed to be, was accurate. I never said that the problem was "well known" nor did I say it was "wide spread." All I said was that Verizon and Motorola were aware of the defect, and that Verizon sells phones nationwide. Your inferences, therefore, are totally incorrect. Additionally, I have used the work-around, a-hole; I only said that it is a complicated multi-stepped process that would be difficult for other than a rather savy user. Finally, although I have communicated frequently with Verizon and Motorola and have made them aware of the phone's defects, I am under no obligation to give you or any other "interested" party what the specifics might be. It is perfectly legitimate to simply point out that the phone is defective and that the two primary responsible parties have no fix though they have been aware of the problem for over two years. The real complaint I have is that they continue to sell the phone pointing out all its great features to the consumer, but fail to mention that some do not work. Unlike you, apparently, I don't care about either company - my only concern is that consumers are being ripped off with no recourse. Next time, you should probably read before you mouth off. I know that "alternate facts" are now the norm in our nation, but I choose to live in a state of reality.

Help us out here, your report gave us zero specifics.
I searched for this widespread and well known problem that Motorola freely admits is an issue and couldn't find anything other than the normal "chatter" from various people complaining about how some feature or another isn't working. Where more than a handfull of people were complaining about "Jail Broken" phones. But I can type in just about any phone and find similar results.
So what specific issue are you refering to and what is this "work around" that apparently is too complicated for you.
