Complaint Review: Verizon Online Services

Verizon Online Services Lifetime service ended in a year Philadelphia Pennsylvania

In July 2007 I contracted for Verizon's Lifetime $14.99 per month DSL online service promotion through a phone representative. Only a year later Verizon has broken the contract and raised the rate to $23.99 per month. A "Lifetime", is certainly not a year.

I spoke with three customer service representatives concerning this matter. The individuals were located outside the US, difficult for me to understand, and spoke in prepared phrases. They provided no assistance or resolution.

Meanwhile, Verizon has no validation for the price hike as they have the resources to continually bombard me with weekly direct mail, phone calls and sales home visits to purchase their more expensive Fios service.

Here is some legal proof that the plan was offered:

Under the new offer, customers who order Verizon High Speed Internet service online with a connection speed of up to 768 Kbps (kilobits per second) and a two-year commitment will pay $14.99 a month for as long as they subscribe to the same price-for-life plan. The same plan applies to Verizon's 3 Mbps (megabits per second) service, which is available online for $27.99 a month. The plan is also available by calling a Verizon customer service representative at 1-800-742-5375, with pricing ranging from $17.99 to $19.99 a month for a connection speed of up to 768 kbps and $27.99 to $29.99 a month for a connection speed up to 3 Mbps.
