I wish I had known about this site a couple of years ago, because my complaint is old. But here's what happened. I switched all five of our phones to Verizon after they bought out Alltel. I did this so we could have unlimited texting, with three teenagers.

When we got the new phones, we also got data packages. I just got the basic data plan for my son, then realized he would go over the amount of data, so I called and requested his line be put on unlimited data.

Now, we had five new phones. Verizon sent me multiple emails about all the changes to our contract because of all the phones, so I quit reading all that email.

When I got my first month's bill, it was over $500!! I looked things over carefully and found they had removed my son's data plan entirely, instead of changing it to unlimited. I got charged for every time he got on the internet.

When I called to have this remedied, the customer service rep told me he couldn't take that charge off my bill because the amount was so large. So he checked with his boss and called me back. He told me they refused take the charges off, but he would try again. He did try again, and bless his heart, he called me again a couple of days later and told me they wouldn't take it off my bill because they had sent me an email telling me they had removed the data plan on that line!

I looked and never did find any email or any notification to that effect on my online account information.

I didn't have a working printer at the time, or I would have printed out and sent the unhappy note I wrote. I thought I could just send them note online. But when I looked into that option, I found the character limit for a note to them was something like 200. In all honesty, I got discouraged and gave up, even though I knew it was too much money to walk away from--my own fault.

I know it's too late to resolve this issue at this point, and I am stuck with Verizon because they have the best coverage in my area, and the cheapest overall price. But head's up to anyone else who is doing business with this rotten company. Watch the %$#*& emails they send you!!
