I have ahd Verizon service, telephone internet and cable for 8 months now. Itook place in the 'refer a friend program' 3 months after my service began and they have yet to pay me ANY referrals and the sales reps have no idea why.. so they say.

I have gotten 3 different stories, one.. a rep saying not to pay $150.00 on my bill as it will be credited the next billing cycle.. guess what? No credit on my bill and a late charge. This has been going on for months and I am tired of it. Please help me. I have followed all the terms and conditions of the program and still nothing.

Billing systems are not programmed correctly

#2Consumer Suggestion

Thu, October 23, 2008

I'm not sure how much this will help, but there are 2 possible scenarios for the errors you are experiencing:

1) Incompetent employees who cannot figure out how to operate the verizon billing software

2) (And more likely) The programmers who designed Verizon's billing platform left a huge glitch in the software resulting in changes the customer service agents try to make 'not happening'.

Basically what this means is you'll call in, verizon will promise to do something, it won't get done because the programming has an error, then the part of the computer that processes late fees will continue to work until Verizon's software automatically reports you to their collections department.

So not only are your bills not fixed, for being such a good customer, verizon is going to damage your credit to thank you for signing a two year service agreement with them. Oh, and if you try to cancel, their nice computers will send you a early termination charge, and if you don't pay that, they'll damage your credit further.

Verizon's new advertising campaign: "Join the nations largest digital network, where you pay for our mistakes. Can you hear me now?"

Nice company huh?
