I had my own home phone line through verizon, that to me was a complete disaster! I got the number and it was no longer in use and i kept on getting people calling me asking for a "John"! They called at all hours of the night. I was also getting charges that I did not even add to the line (long distance etc). My Bill reached $500.00 and thats when verizon shut it off. They sent me monthly bills and my family paid some of the bill the rest has been a nightmare. They have sent my account to multiple collection agencies for various ammounts. For every different amount it was a new space on my credit report! And it drove my credit score right down to ZERO!

To this day it still remains "unpaid" on my credit report.
I have one final amount from the 5th collection agency they have used to collect the whole debt. Everytime I have tried to call to clear up this matter, They NEVER give me the answer I am looking for. They push me around like a leaf blowing in the wind carelesly and they are NEVER POLITE to me (even though I am polite to them)! I am unsure if this will be the end..

Hi
My credit has also been ruined by Verison. I had a cell phone and it was stollen in a robbery. I had proof. When I contacted them they said they would let me out of the contract. I even got another cell phone from then (what a mistake). Two years later I started receiving harrasing phone calls about the first contract. Very, extremely rude collection calls. I sent in the information again about the robbery. I then forgot about it thinking it was over. Now it is 5 years later and I tryed to refinance and of course it came up again. This time my mortgage advised me just to pay it. So get this. I get a check from my refinance company and try to pay it and I cannot find anyone in the whole company that knows what my account # is or where to sent the money. They cannot even find any record of anything. So they say they will call me back and they never do. So I call them back and I get an account representative could barely speak english and was very, very rude to me again. And I'm try to give them money. After all this what did I get in the mail today a collection statement from a collection company. I could just scream.
