This is a long battle with above mentioned Company and it is not over yet. On August 3, 2001 I filed a complaint with the Public Utility Commsisson PA about misleading information that I received by Verizon . My Internet access is used by a modem and every time I change access numbers I call the company (Verzion) to make sure I am not billed with any toll charges .

However, the person I called assured me that no additonal charges will be billed to my account ! (Phone conversation which I tried to get as recovery of evidence)

Of course I was billed with about $ 500.00 as a result of Toll charges. The dispute went to small court claims and they put me to a cross-hearing (I was not represented by a lawyer). Since my only evidence is the phone conversation, and I asked for this crucial cd or tape I got turned down.

Currently I will forward the case to the State Attorney General of PA and go on with my fight,I know that similar cases are out there.

I also learned that the supreme court will consider to restrict consumer accusations against Verizon , which means that lawsuits would be blocked against the company (so they would gain a shield). I like to state that I have nothing against the company , but I feel that this could have been solved in a very different way and I will continue my fight.

For any person interested in this case : Case C-20015972
can be accessed via the PUC PA online.
