So, finally, verizon has admitted they screwed up royally. So, two years ago when he signed up for verizon dsl, they input the wrong address initially, instead of deleting the incorrect acct, they kept it open and then set up an acct with the correct address.... Billing us twice, once to the correct address and again to an unknown address. So, we disconnected the dsl the end of 2010 and we paid a $99 disconnect fee to verizon and never got anything else. My husband checked his credit report last week and found it had plummeted 50 pts. When he looked into it with the credit bureau he came to find out it was due to an unpaid verizon account. We even received a weird bill months after we disconnected dsl and called verizon with it and they told us that it was a fraud acct and not to pay it. All i can say is watch out for verizon because we are NOT the only ones theyve done this to. Now we have to look into all kinds of things. We refinanced our mtg during this period and we have to find out if verizon had adversely effected our credit prior to our refi. Now we also have to make sure verizon does as they said and they SHOULD and write to the credit bureau rescinding the delinquency. Wonder how many people they do this to!
