My employee has been with me for 6 years. No reason to distrust him when he said he received 2 unsolicited text messages on the company cell phone. They are for RING TONES: Ringtones.com and Ringza. Then my bill showed $19.98 for two text messages! I called Verizon and they removed them. BUT he received them again -different ones. They showed up again and I got billed again.
This time Verizon says there is nothing they will do or can do (I think it is what they don't want to do because Verizon MAKES A PART PROFIT by letting these leaches in on the bill. If Verizon can remove them they should not let them be on my bill!

This should be illegal like solicition on my cell phone time! Any one else want to take them on for class action law suit?

Did you check the phone?

Did you check the cell phone to see what had been downloaded into the phone? You should check the phone's storage to see the text message and any downloaded files.

It's possible that this was a scam, but I would suspect that a certain employee very likely visited these websites and requested the ringtones. Perhaps the employee thought they were part of some "free trial" of some sort or for some other reason may have been free, when in reality they were not.

Text messages are text messages. Ringtones are AUDIO files that are downloaded into the phone, sometimes separately or as an attachement to a message.

I would contact Verizon to have digital file downloading to this company cellphone disabled - that will prevent such things in the future. I have 2 cellphones with Verizon, mine and my wife's phone. My phone has digital access and her phone does not.

Good luck.
