I am writing to inform anyone who has a Verizon Wireless account to think twice about signing any new contracts or doing business with them in the future! I have their service in Wenatchee Washington and got moved to another area in Washington state where they cannont legally offer me service.

I requested that they close my account and be done with it, however they informed me I still have 6 months remaining on my contract and it was my decision to be moved for work, not theirs, and therefore I am still liable to their service contract even though they cannot legally provide me with a local number and agreement.

This seems to be a great money making opportunity for them. Anyone who calls me must dial long distance to reach my cell phone number. I asked them why they won't terminate the service since they cannot provide me with a local number and they advised me they cannot do that because they were able to provide service for me in my original service area, and I am stuck with that contract.

I told them I felt their service agreement was probably in violation of some law, and the rep even said it probably was but that is the way it is! Anyone reading this, please pass this on to anyone you know who uses Verizon Wireless or Verizon home or DSL and warn them of these heavy-handed practices by this company. They don't seem to care at all about the customer, let's make them start to care by spreading the word about how they really operate!

Rebuttal:
You better run your phone over with the car. Why? Because by the time 90 days since you moved, they will be slamming roaming charges on you for answering your phone or making calls. Last time I checked, it was somewhere near 85 cents a minute. Be prepared for this cause if you talked on anybody else's cell system that does not involve prepaid wireless, they have up to 90 days to wait to bill you for roaming calls you made 3 months
ago.

I don't give a rat's a*s about my credit report but if you do, pay it when it comes and be prepared for $250.00 a month in roaming if you use 300 minutes out of your area. They do pull your credit report every couple months and look at it so I know they have the ballz to put more dashes on them.
