I, too, am a victim of Verizons poor business practices. After being a Verizon customer for over 4 years, with four separate lines on my account, I am still under contract until 2005. After my orginal one year service contract was up, and I was on a month to month basis, I started noticing extra charges to my accounts. Anything from over allowance usage to roaming charges to 411 connect charges. (Let me add, I went to a Verizon Sales Center when I started my service).

When I first called customer service about the discrepancies on my bills, I was told the service plans I purchased did not exist and they would be happy to "fix" the problem. (To date, I have yet to see a credit) Little did I know, and most consumers do not know this until it is too late, everytime they "fix" a problem, it extends your contract for another year. To make a long story short, it makes perfect sense. They sell you a non-existant service plan, let you run your bill up, wait for you to call customer service, offer to "fix the problem" and they have you back into a service contract of one or two years. All this because, we, the consumer, had the common sense to complain.

This has gone on for two years now. After reading some of the other Verizon complaints, I can relate my experiences with this company to just about every one of those complaints. My phones also roam from my living room. I had requested features on my phones, which were not added, thus causing excessive charges until the next bill came and the "Mistake" was caught. Did they offer to credit my accounts? Minimally. I was told by the customer service rep at our local Verizon store, that unless I had the first and last name, extension #, and call center location information, they had no way of knowing who I had spoke to each time I had called. Yet they claim they have a verbal contract with me from when I had called to 'Change my service plan'. I never called to "CHANGE" my service plan, I just wanted it corrected to what I had orginally purchased.

Class Action Suit - Hell Yes, Count me in.
