I had a family plan and a regular plan - verizon shut off my phones for a total bill of only 1 month and they also wanted an extra month. My phones were shut off on 3/24/06 and I asked them to correct the bill - I also tried to pay them over the phone $249.00 and the chic on the phone "refuced my payment". I have constantly told them to correct my bill and they would find I owe even less than the $249.00 but they refuced and totally cancelled all my services and then decided they would also charge me for the complete month of march, april may and june and also charge me 3 termination fees of $175.00 each phone. To this day I am still trying to get them to fix the bill and they are refusing and when you ask to speak to a manager or someone in a higher position than that you get only a manager and he on the phone is too busy with his adding machine than trying to take care of the customer and fix the bill. Hope verizon can finally have someone straighten them out once and for all. I am forwarding this website as I only found it on accident but I can say that 7 people I know are having very similar problems with verizon. And they to need to know about this site as well as their friends.

PUCO
I CONTACTED FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND ATTORNEY GENERAL. FTC said that they charge if you fill a formal complaint agaist Verizon. The contract state that early termination fee is $175. Fraudulent overcharges are real, but I don't know if FTC really can help us because they didn't help me out. Attorney General faxed them my complaint to try to get me a bill reduction but these stupids agencies really do nothing serious to stop Verizon illegal practices.

I was also ripoff by Verizon, I called them to let them know that I will port my # over to another carrier after my contract ends on 8/23. So they accidently disconnect & reconnect my service before 8/23 and charged me $175 ETF. I called and they said they will credit my account but the request was denied.

Let Verizon know that you will contact PUCO and file a complaint with them if your problem is not resolved. If PUCO have enough complaint against Verizon, they company will be fined.

I was also rippoff by Verizon and I filled out a complaint against them with FTC, Attorney General, and Department of consumers affairs. I requested service termination on7/24/06 but they are still billing me for september. They charged us almost $500 extra for downloads/messaging we never used. $70 for each line totallizing $350 when the contract states only $60 for 2 lines sharing 700 minutes.

We have to wait for these agencies investigations for maybe 1-2 months but I hope that my bill can be drastically reduced because verizon misleaded my with false information. DO NOT CONTACT THEM ANYMORE, CONTACT FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND FILL A COMPLAINT IN THEIR WEBSITE AND PRINT OUT A COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS. BEST OF LUCKS!
