Verizon Wireless Full signal yet phone wont ring and can't call out, wont repair or upgrade! verizonwireless.com Internet

I've been complaining to Verizon for about a year now that my cell phone doesn't allways ring when a call comes in, instead it will go to voicemail. This happens on a regular basis, and it happens when it shows a FULL SIGNAL.

Then it may not let me know there's a voicemail sometimes for hours, sometimes right after they leave the message it will show there's a message.

As if that's not enough, then it wont let me call voicemail to get the message, now remember this is all while showing that I have a FULL SIGNAL.

I understand that sometimes cell phones aren't all that perfect but I really and truely hate this phone and all I have asked for is an early upgrade to try a different phone so I can find out if it's the phone or the service.

By the way this is an LG phone and they are next on my list if this doesn't resolve anything. My next phone will not be an LG.

I even pay the $5 a month for insurance but after paying them about $90 over the last 18 months why would I want to pay another $50 just to end up getting the same model of phone that I hate, besides my mom had the same model and it had to be replaced too.

Regarding LG phones..

You people are way off base on the LG phones here. The OP may have had a defective or broken LG phone, but LG has consistently gotten the highest independent ratings I have seen, as well as the fact I have had 3 of them as a flatbed truck driver and have dropped, kicked, etc.. and no problems. I still have an LG VX6000 and I can show you the battle scars on that one, and no problems ever.

As far as Samsung goes, they are the biggest junk on the market, hands down. They have the worst independent reviews, and have the weakest signal reception of any phone on the market.

If you think you will ever do better with a Samsung, you will be very suprised.

Stick with that Motorola. That is a good phone.

That issue you were having was actually the system, not the phone. However each phone works differently and the Motorola handles that particular issue better than the LG did. This is all in the programming of the phone.

Also, with Verizon, you must constantly update your phone manually by dialing *228. Along with the daily rebooting of the phone.

Those issues described as for the calls going straight to voicemail can be the problem of the callers carrier too if they are using a cell phone.

It was the LG VX4500 phone, not Verizon.

THIS WAS AN LG VX4500 PHONE PROBLEM, NOT A VERIZON PROBLEM.

First I am aware that cell phones need to be restarted to continue to work, but thanks for the suggestion.

For that matter the LG battery retainer broke and the battery had to be glued to the phone so pulling the battery and reinstalling wasn't practical. One morning it showed I had a message but the phone stopped responding so I had to pry the battery out to reset it.

LG VX4500 IS JUST JUNK. The person in charge of ordering the company phones came by the department I work in one morning and I asked if he still had the old phones so I could try a different make and model telling him about the problems I was having with my LG he ended up giving me a NEW Motorola V325 camera phone.

IT WAS THE LG VX4500. The Motorola V325 has been working just fine (so far). I have had none of the problems that I had with the LG.

SO THIS WAS AN LG PHONE PROBLEM NOT A VERIZON PROBLEM.

Thank you all for your input.

I had that phone and it was not bad for the price however, are you aware that you need to shut off your phone at least once a day and reboot it? most dont know that however, I do. having worked in the celluar business for many years, it came to attention that most leave the phone on forever and like a computer needs to be rebooted.

try that and see if it works.

thanks

Alot of trouble with the LG phone

It may be your phone or it may be a combination of tower service and your phone.

When a call comes through to you - it's sent to the tower that was closest to your phone the last time it checked in. Then the tower looks for your phone.

If the tower is full the call just goes to voicemail. And that happens alot.

But the LG phones were junk. Verizon knows this. I agree your best bet is to buy another phone. Just make sure it's a tri-mode phone and has a decent battery life.

Tim, I totally agree with you on the LG phones. I too have many problems with my LG. I use it for business proposes and it's frustating and embarrassing when it drops my calls. And this is in the middle of the city where they claim to have a great signal. My boyfriend was also having so many problem with his LG that we finally had to go on ebay to purchase a new one. Verizon would not in any way whatsoever give us an upgrade or discount on a new phone, since he was not eligible for the new every two for 8 more months.

We have had Verizon for over 5 years. The service is decent enough, but I feel they should discontinue the LG phones all together. When I purchased mine, they told me that this is one of the best out there at the time. That's crap. I'v had my Samsung for two years and have dropped it several times. It still works much better than the LG that is 1-1/2yrs newer. Also it's just a phone. It doesn't have all this other crap on it. Like a camera; we have a camera. We feel that they should concentrate more on manufacturing a reliable PHONE than all the other features that they are marketing for the kids.

I am due for a new every two phone on my Samsung next month. I plan on getting another Samsung (retail price around $600) at their cost and ditching the LG that I have. I will keep the older model Samsung for my second line.
The best thing to do is go on ebay to get another phone. The prices are reasonable. Our ebay phone was used, but it works MUCH better than the LG crap.
Good luck!!
