On May 1st 2015 we purchased a ELLIP  JETPAK MHSEOOL online from Verizon, arriving on may 3rd.  It was offered with a 14 day return guarantee.  Two days after activation (May 5th or 6th), it stopped working, totally dead.  We were busy and didnt call till May 14th.  After some discussion about repair, I insisted on invocking the 14 day return, got authorization, and shipped the unit using their prepaid label on 5/16 (last of 14 days) it was received at their Texas facility on May 20th.  After a few days, a credit was given on the original card used for $.01 the amount charged.

Great done deal ... NOT.  Since then they keep billing for early termination even tho the device was returned per their guidelines.  I contaacted customer service on 7/9, who initially claimed they had not given authorization, then backed down when I gave them the operator name and Id, along with the information I had recorded the call (they had the standard disclaimer that the call would be recorded so whats fair ...)  They then said that the transaction would be cancelled, and it would reflect in 3 billing cycles? Clearly saying by September.  We are halfway thru September, and we get a dunning call for monthly charges.  When we explained that the charges were to be cancelled by now, we were informed the purchase was cancelled, but we are still under monthly contract (for a device we don't even have).  this is clearly not in compliance with their standard return policy http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/support/return-policy?lid=sayt&say

Bad math!!

YOU have some bad math there. See YOU have ASSUMED that the time started when you recieved and activated your device. The REALITY is that your time started from the moment YOU placed your online order. The time didnt stop until THEY RECIEVED IT!!! NOT when YOU got a RMA email, but when they recieved the PHYSICAL ITEM!!!! You are going to have to pay the ETF BECAUSE you were outside the 14 day return window. Whine and cry all you like this issue is YOUR MISTAKE. YOU ASSUMED the time frames started when you got the device and YOU ASSUMED the time stopped once YOU got the RMA email. Its YOUR ASSUMPTION that has caused this issue and NOTHING that Verizon did. Perhaps in the future instead of being a lazy sack of you know what, YOU will go INTO A STORE where you would have been better protected against those types of assumptions. This amount that YOU have to pay was earned by YOUR ASSUMPTION. When YOU ASSUME you do so at your own risk.

Then YOU compound the issue by NOT informing the operator you were working with that YOU were recording THEM. In CLEAR violation of THIER rights. So WHO is REALLY the bad guy here??
