In October of 2006, I renewed my cell phone contract with In Touch America, a subsidiary of Verizon Wireless. With my contract renewal, I was offered a choice of new phones, all with rebates. I chose the Motorola Razor v-3m whic came with a $50 rebate.

I assembled all the necessary documentation of my purchase and submitted my rebate request on 10/20/2006. After 8 weeks, I followed up with a phone call to check on its status and was told that the bar code from the original box had not been received. I re-copied and re-submitted all documentation on 01/19/2007and waited another 6-8 weeks. I followed up with phone calls occasionally and was always told to wait. Of course I kept copies of my submissions and the receipts from the post office. I followed up again and spoke to a Verizon representative named "Tony" who told me that the documentation still had not been received and that I should fax it. I faxed everything to 888.839.9957 on 03/03/2007. I followed up with a phone call on March 15th and was told that the "offer was closed."

This is a transparent scam that has been much written about in many reputable newspapers and magazines. I object in the strongest possible terms to this rip-off. I would never have bought the phone (which I don't like very much) if I had had to pay full price for it, which is essentially what I have done. Please exert pressure on Verizon Wireless to honor their offer of a $50 rebate to me and to apologize for the shocking runaround I have received from their representatives.
