i was in a bad auto accident and was off work for a conciderable time and i contacted verizon to try and set up a payment plan. after i talked to them i thought everything was set up?

then i got a call from a collection company demanding payment in full! i exsplained to them the situation and that i had set up a payment plan but the bottom line is "we dont care , our client wants they're money".
so i made arrangements with these leeches and paid everything. thinking that was all done i got a credit report and the account with verizon was stated as a charge off?
since then i've made it a personal quest to advise people
{known or not }of the buisness practices of verizon wireless.

Fight Back!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, May 24, 2003

I'm having the same problem, only it's a bill from 1997 and my old Airtouch account. I was never billed, paid on time and have no idea what they're talking about. Why it took 6 years for them to report it, is a mystery. It appeared on my credit report in April 2003. I was never contacted by Verizon or a collection agency.

I suggest you do what I'm doing right now......write to the Office of the President for the area you live in. You can get the contact info and name of the president at : www.verizonwireless.com

Make sure to detail everything that's happened, when and who you spoke to.....everything.

You'll recieve a response from an executive consultant within 2 days, they are prompt. Likely, they'll tell you what they told me. Once a charge off is reported, it cannot ( they choose not to ) correct or recind it. It's a done deal.
It's your problem, they don't care. I advise you to insist they do the right thing and remove false information on your credit record, if they again refuse, advise them you will take it to the next level and contact the President of the Company, Mr Dennis F Strigl. ( I just did this)

You can contact him at :

Dennis F Strigl
180 Washington Valley Rd
Bedminiser, NJ 07921
877-282-0788

I called him yesterday regarding false information reported to the credit bureaus by Verizon. It was after hours on the east coast, so I left a voice mail message. I am following up with a registered letter.

When you write to anyone at Verizon, make sure you remind them of their own company's Business Code of Conduct. ( It's on their website too)

"Our sucess depends on our ability to connect through integrity with each other, our customers and our many business partners"

Ask that they live up to that, and remove the false information they reported about you.

If you don't get resolution from your area president or the comapny president Dennis Strigl, here are a few more executives you can write to.
It's worth it, it's your credit rating at risk here.

Mary Beth Bardin
Executive VP/ Public Affairs

Ezra D Singer
Executive VP/ Human Resources

Doreen A Toben
Executive VP / CFO

Ivan G Seidenberg
President, CEO/ Director

Charles R lee
Chairman of the Board

If you go to Forbes.com you can get alot of information, addresses on the executives. It even lists their salaries for last year including bonuses. It's amazing what these guys make ripping off the consumer! Charles Lee made 15 million last year and more than half of that was his bonus!

Please update your post to let us know how it's going ......and don't give up! You have notified the better Business Bureau, right? Do that too if you haven't already.

Good Luck....
