I was scammed into paying a $175.00 termination fee even after the customer service rep told me I would not be charged. I recently moved to an area that did not have reception, and asked to cancel my service without the termination charge. After a few minutes of explaining, and the customer service department attempting to call my phone, they agreed to cancel the service without the termination fee.

Then the bill came... under "other" charges was a $175 dollar termination fee. I called Verizon back and said they made a mistake. However, this time I met extreme resistance and they fought like their lives depended on it to uphold the charge. I spent two hours on the phone with a "specialist". Well the specialist was really a scam artist because he consistently tried to use my own words against me.

After reading other complaints it seems this type of stuff happens very often. I believe Verizon Wireless is scamming a lot of people this way, and it must stop.
I don't appreciate being lied too. Verizon Wireless is unethical in the way it conducts business, and my experience is just one of the many. To this day I am still fighting with them over the termination fee. They send blitzes of bills to me continually billing the same fee... and the due date on the bill hasn't even come yet. Save yourself the hassle... don't ever go with Verizon Wireless.
