Versailles Cuban Restaurant. A few days ago I went to the Culver City location, the one on Venice Blvd. My female friend and I were horribly discriminated by the waiters who thought we were lesbians. This is just because we have short hair, no make up, and dress very casually. The waiters thought we were not going to understand their discriminatory and derogatory remarks in Spanish, but said all sort of horrible things against us, laughed at us and made us feel very uncomfortable.
Since then, I contacted a few associations and did an extensive research on the web, and I found out that other individuals have been discriminated at Versailles Cuban Restaurant. So, versailles is not new to these kinds of things. Their waiters need training. Their waiters need to be professional, and not make stupid remarks against customers. And most of them are even illegal here.
I am contacting as many associations as possible to let them know what happened and bring awareness. Based on what I have read on the web, Versailles Cuban Restaurant does not take this kind of episodes seriously.
