I needed a counter top for my bathroom renovation. This company was referred to me by a reputable online referral service. The Versatile rep (Marev Sheo) contacted me and we discussed what I needed. I wanted a Blue Sahara silestone counter made. She told me they could provide what I wanted. I was emailed an invoice for a deposit of $1100.00. I sent the check on 2/26/07. They cashed it on 3/7. A guy came out on 3/1 to make a template for the counter top. I was told the process would take 2 weeks at the most.

Two weeks passed and no counter top. After numerous phone calls from me and my contractor, the countertop came on 3/28. It was the WRONG COLOR. I refused delivery. When I tried to contact them about getting the right color they proceeded to play hide and seek, duck and dodge. This went on for weeks. In the meantime my renovation is being held up and my contractor is about to walk. On 4/17 I emailed a request for a refund. it was obvious they could not provide what I wanted. At no time did they attempt to contact me. I always had to initiate contact. I finally had to hire another company to do the counter top.

I contacted Versatile (201-944-5800)again on 5/2 and was told no bosses were available. On 5/3/07 I called again and got Marev. She insisted that her name was Michelle and that Versatile no longer exists and that they are now called Marabelle. She told me I had to contact a Sharon Cohen at 201-369-0004 about my refund. I called that number and the man at the other end refused to give me his name. I have checked and they are still operating as Versatile Marble. I now have to sue to get my money back. I have contacted the various consumer agencies probably to no avail.

Versatile Marble Countertop crooks Out of Business

It looks like I am out 1100.00. My lawyer sent a demand letter to the company and it came back addressee unknown. I filed a complaint with the Bergen County Consumer Affairs. It took them a month to get back to me. They informed me that they cannot go after this company because it has gone out of business and they can't find them. Is there anything else i can do?
