Complaint Review: Versaweb

Versaweb versaweb.com Paid prorated for one and half months upfront. Never received services i ordered. No Support, No Refund. Scammed for $226 Las Vegas, Nevada

I ordered a dedicated server at www.Versaweb.com on june 23rd.  I paid using PayPal the same day for a total of $226.20 pro-rated charge for the rest of June and July 1-July 31st. Their paypal company name is R&D Technologies. Strange it's not Versaweb, a name that they use on their website.
Got email confirmation the server is online on June 24th.

I checked the IPs assigned and found out they are all blocked by multiple antispam organizations. Example IP i was given is:

72.46.128.43  I also checked different IPs in their range and they are all blocked. Versaweb houses spammers, all known violators.

I immediately emailed the customer service rep with initials DJR  that the IPs are all banned and requesting new ones. He never responded. The next day i tried calling but no one answers in their company. I decided to cancel services and sent them an email on June 25th.
I never got a response.

Then started sending support tickets about service cancellation and refunds. Never got a response back.

Then i initiated a dispute on Paypal but because i selected unothorized dispute in error they refused to do anything about it.

Got an email just couple of days ago from Betty Fisher-Reed refering to Section 3 of Terms of Service. My question is what services cause i didn't get any!?!

Versaweb is a spamhouse and a scam!

Versaweb was my dedicated server provider for years
I said "was" because no more

what is good in versaweb.com
1- server price is great
2- feature vs price are good

what is bad in versaweb.com
1- if you upgrade even memory, they charge you not only the monthly fees as all provider (normal) but also hours fees
2- no technical support at all
thats mind you are better to be a server admin or when your server will crash you will have to wait hours and days to have real support and your server can be offline during that time if the problem is serious
Also don't wait for them to answeer on hollidays, they don't know what that mind.
Even their datacenter nap vegas (not their but where they make business) not answeer on the phone when I called on dec 26.
right you said it is holidays, but many store are open this day (boxing day) and they should have at least one or 2 techs on duties for emergency, as what servers never crash on that day.
really really bad , horrible support.
and to have an answeer to0 your trouble ticket, on these days , it take L..o..n..g hours if ever responded or not closed without notice.

This is whay I said you are better to spend a little more and make sure you can have support really as 24/7 or at least on phone or email. because versaweb argue they have, but not true at all
and sometime they may be rought on the answeer, those guys not like much to be disrupted or they can said, host somewhere else and thats why I done it, incredible answeer from a server hosting service.

I was with there for few years as said, and we administer our servers because we have 2 server admin, but the day we had problem was when no ones was there at their office, because they take 2 days off (yes COMPLETELY OFF) and the server had a serious crash requiring someone physical in the data center or at least with a KVM access, things they never offered when they said simply no one's here.

so better to leave when you feel they prefer more to take care of their parties that the clients and no matter if the server will be offline for days and all our clients too.

Hosting and reseller clients have more help elsewhere that dedicated server with versaweb
so why we should be concerned with them and their poor service

Versaweb you need more that good price to bring serious peoples, today there are BIG competition in your back, you should really and seriousely revise your support terms and service with your client and not alway answeer them like "Sh.." you know what!

We are now with another company where we have now 6 servers and we have support, yes even on christmas and new year day and all techs are so great and are with us in case, we do not require much help, maybe 1 time per year and sometime even not, but we are happy to know that someone exist to help and with pleasure and nnot be reductant to our trouble ticket or phone calls.

I even heard they are worst now, another company on the decline. One day we will said "It was upon a time versaweb bla bla" or even no one will remember.
