Vestris Vettes Ripped me off for $135,000 Paoli, Pennsylvania
In 2007 I contracted with John Vestris of Vestris Vettes to build for my wife a custom built 1958 Corvette. The car was to be built within a 9 month window and was to be delivered as a surprise Christmas gift that December.
I signed a contract that had a draw schedule attached. As certain work was performed I was to release funds to pay for the building of the car.
I was sent pictures by Vestris via email showing the car in various stages of the build process and payment was realeased accordingly to the tune of $135,000 with only one final payment due when the car was delivered.
I went to visit the car in July that year and discovered that all the work was not done and in fact I had been sent pictures to mislead me into thinking it had been done. This was done to obtain payment from me thereby comitting fraud.
I filed suite against Vestris and his company and spent another $20,000 in legal fee's. I ended up receiveing through the courts the unfinshed body, some parts including the engine and thats about it. Total value of what I received is about $35,000.
John Vestris is a fraud and a liar. I came to find out via my court action that he has as many as 9 other individuals that he never completed the cars for and took over $1000,000 from these people.
He is currently under investagation by the US Postal Inspector and the FBI for mail fraud.
