When visiting a terminally ill person in this hospital, I was greeted with alot of I don't knows. And who is this person, and got a few of, this person is not here. I went to the admitting to find out also. They didn't know, so I ended up searching floor by floor and 4 buildings myself, until I finally found the room, just outside intensive care...

I wonder if the homeless under bridges have better care than this, if they do, I will have to check and see where they go.

I didn't provide you with specifics on this, I have read the act, Besides, it's not the hospital, it was the people that worked there, as any other place, like who even cuts you off at an intersection, not the establishment itself, the establishment was great!!!

when did you go to the infomation desk and ask about the ill patient and explain why you were there?

I wasn't terminally ill but when I had my daughter (in a military hospital.) Many of my family and friends came to visit me. They just had to go to the info desk and explain who they were visiting and why they were there.

Please understand that of 1996 health information privacy and protection act is what you should read. Under these new regs there will be no information given to anyone without a code number. This is sometimes very hard because there have been cases where immediate family members could not be given any information what so ever on the patient unless the patient authorizes it by a release of information and a code number given to the immediate family members. I have been in the VA system since 1992 and this is how it works. If you are not a family member you wont get any information what so ever..
