Veterans Support Organization VSO Not Helping Veterans. Banned from South Carolina, Tennessee for Fraud. Stuart Florida
The state of South Carolina has banned this charity from operating in the state. It has previously been banned in Tennessee. They purport to be helping veterans, but they do not. They put people in uniforms that appear to be military, or in former military uniforms, and have them solicit donations. Sometimes they are veterans that are being paid, but often are not.
The state of Florida, where they are based, has fined them $2500 for false and misleading practices. They took in $8 million dollars, so I'm sure they're just laughing when they write that check. The head of the 'charity' takes home $300,000 a year--and that's just what's on the books.
