VI Lane Kennels Vicki James, Ben James Misrepresentation; Sells Any Mixed Breed and Calls It A Cavachon; Genetic Issues Bloomington, Indiana

Within a week of purchasing a 2 month old puppy, breeder is notified of puppy displaying health discomforts of yelping and scratching/nipping at rear end/back hip. Vet visit revealed Coccidia, an intestinal parasite, and given medication Albon for 9 days. Incubation period is about 13 days, so my puppy had this when I purchased him. Also, an umbilical hernia was found.   Five days after vet visit, puppy continues to have diarrhea, excessive urination and extreme loss of appetite. Puppy taken back to vet and diagnosed with Giardia, another intestinal parasite which is caused from contaminated water and feces. Without a strong immune system, this was an ongoing battle for 3 months.   After 5 additional vet visits, 1 emergency room visit and finally sending this puppy to the University of Georgia Veterinarian Medicine, this puppy has fought to survive. He has been on medication daily for over 10 weeks.   Breeder refuses to provide a Bill of Sale, which request dam and sire information and the acclaimed one year health guarantee as indicated on breeder's website. Breeder, Vicki James will not return phone calls and refuses to have her vet consult with my vet regarding treatment   Vicki James actually had the nerve to request that I return my puppy to her so that she could get him well! Consumers need to contact the Humane Society in the county in which breeder resides and file formal complaints, which then is forwarded to the Attorney General's office. Also, file complaint with Indianaconsumer website, Better Business Bureau or file in Small Claims Court.   This breeder misrepresents everything that is advertised on their website.   I suggest that breeders provide documentation from their vet. Fecal exams are required 3 consecutive days with a negative result or tested 3 times within a 7 day period to be free of Giardia. This breeder is untrustworthy.

We bought our black and white Cavachon puppy from Vicki over two years ago and couldn't be more in love!  She's perfectly healthy and well behaved.  Absolutely everyone from neighbors to strangers and of course our own family are head over heels for her.  We had a great experience with Vicki and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.  In fact, if we ever decide to add more puppies to our clan we'd get another dog from Vicki.  It's devastating when you lose a puppy but it doesn't seem as though this is a 'norm' for this breeder at all.
