I received a letter of congratulations that I was the lucky winner of 120,000 from the Shoppers Lottery from a drawing at the head office in London, UK.

They select your name from selected stores in North America like Walmart, Home Depot, Sears, etc.
Along with the letter, there is a check, drawn from Citibank, N.A in Brooklyn, NY.
The check is in the amount of $4,010.30, however you must pay the applicable government fee of $2,980, payable at any western union.
In order to receive the additional funds of $116,000, you must contact the clams agent on the letter for proper direction and clarifications.
This is all an elaborate scam, to which the check looks real enough, only to cause you and your bank account nothing more than a headache and some heartache.
I have been fortunate enough to be a recipient of a few sweepstakes winnings, and you will get a registered letter you have to sign for, and you usually know where the letter is coming from.
I am amazed at how much time and effort these scam artists are putting into taking another's hard earned money.
Just the fact that this was drawn off Citibank, made me suspicious. Like they need anymore trouble.
Times are tough enough, don't be taken in by these people.

The way this paricular scam works, they send a fake Cashiers Check and ask you to "Pay Taxes" (Or some other legitimate SOUNDING scam) after you send the "Taxes"  (Allways by Western Union so it's untracable) your Bank returns the FAKE check as Unpayable (Bounced, no money) then YOU have to pay back the bank.

As you probably know all the info they gave you is fake, usually stolen from some real but innocent company, the Phone is a throway Cell, and they simply vanish (WITH YOUR CASH)
