Victoria Liu, Willkie Farr & Gallagher Avoid Lawyer Victoria Liu at ALL Costs! New York New York
Under absolutely NO circumstances should anyone EVER retain lawyer Victoria Liu, of N.Y. or her supervisor Eugene Chang. Not only did she waste three precious months of my time with a statute of limitations deadline bearing down on me, she violated confidentiality rules by slipping my confidential, proprietary information to one of her firm’s senior partners who sits on several boards with the defendant.
When she agreed to consider my claim, she demanded all related materials. I asked if she needed them to run a conflict of interest check but she did not reply, and after I provided them, she didn’t volunteer that she had done so or that neither she nor her firm had cleared any conflicts of interest. I assumed she had done so, had passed them, and did not have a conflict of interest.
In our May 2016 meeting, her supervisor gave her a month to review my claims and provide her findings at the end of July. However, both of them failed to tell me of his three-week vacation starting on the same date and that she had to confer with him prior to providing her findings. Three months passed while they procrastinated, then she summarily refused to take my claim.
At that point, I did a little research and discovered that a seniot partner of the firm sits on several high-profile financial boards with the defendant. Did she slip my information to him to pass on? All I can say for sure is that a week after she dumped my case, she was promoted to associate in the firm.
By failing to: run a conflicts check and by wasting three months of my time, Ms. Liu showed her lack of respect for this client and the New York State Bar confidentiality rules. At this point, I realized that she never intended to pursue my claims but was currying favor with the partner in her firm for a pormotion. SHE IS TRICKY, DECEITFUL, AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!
