Vida Real Estate Services was contacted several times in a matter of weeks regarding issues with a rental property they manage. It started with our A/C unit making noises that sounded like an electrical issue (junk AC guy came out, did not find anything wrong), called again to complain, got no response.

Then, A/C unit started to leak water in which we had to use multiple towels every day to absorb the water so it did not damage unit or personal property. This also meant we had to do several more loads of laundry at our own expense for detergent. Called about that issue several times and it took at least a week or two for VRE's junk a/c guy to come out. Said he repaired the issue - HE DID NOT. Called Vida several more times without getting a return phone call.

Lastly, in the middle of an extremely hot FL summer during a nationwide heatwave, the a/c unit stopped blowing cold air. Called VIDA several times again without a response as if they did not care about their tenants or the living conditions (Thermostat was pegged at the highest temp - 90+ degrees). Waited a couple days after making multiple calls
and leaving several callback numbers to reach either myself or my fiance and never got a response. Also noted to them that I would call a professional a/c company if I did not get a response. Even called their junk AC guy personally to find he was out of town anyway and could not help. At that point with family coming into town from Ohio to stay -
one of which has several serious medical conditions and cannot be in extreme heat, I had no choice but to call a professional A/C company to come out and repair the forever broken a/c unit that was supposed to be maintained by the owner of our apt. This AC tech found several issues with the a/c unit and exclaimed over and over that any a/c guy should have been able to see and repair ahead of time (electrical shortage noise, leaking water, NO COLD AIR, etc etc). In the end, I had to pay out of my own pock $360 (not including a $40 tip for all the help) that evening to get it repaired.

I called VIDA and of course left a message stating that I had an A/C company come out and repair the unit and let them know I would be including the bill with our monthly rent and removing that sum from our total (I COVERED THE TIP because that was my choice and I expected them to cover the service repair).

Like magic, the company that was so hard to get in touch with finally called me a day or two later. It was a very rude and unprofessional kid named James who acted like he knew everything badgered me stating that he is the property manager hired by the owners and he is to deal with issues, not tenants. He acknowledged and accepted that they would cover the A/C repair costs we incurred but to not take matters into our own hands in the future as they would not cover the expenses.

A month later we received a letter in the mail stating that the owners (slumlords) decided NOT to cover the expense and that we would need to send them a check for the $360.

Please keep in mind we have lived here for 4 years and never had any issues when the community property managers handled all issues. It wasn't until our units were bought out by slumlords working with an inexperienced real estate company that we began having any problems withrepairs.

James Farber is the a*s we had to deal with in regards to this.  He does not care and is very inexperienced.  He is brand new to this business because he does not have a clue as to what he is doing!  Someone should fire his a*s - I really wish it could be me!

Vida Real Estate called me this evening and apologized for the inconvienence.  They owned the fact that there was definetely some confusion with this issue and made it very clear that they wanted to make their tenants happy.

In other words, I am thankful that the owner of Vida called and I retract my previous statements.

What a bunch of grade A pieces of Sh*t!

AWFUL!

I always found a way to cost the slumlords MORE MONEY in the end, for denying their responsibilities.

One of my favorite examples is when they shut off my hot water because the hot water tank was leaking.  Said they would be out to replace it the next day.  When they didn't show on time, I simply turned the water back on and enjoyed my weekend.

Couple days later they had to rush out because several downstairs neighbors were complaining of the water flooding their apartments.  PRICELESS!

You can always open up your fridge and freezer doors when the scumbag won't fix your ac.

I wouldn't have paid em SQUAT!
