While vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, we sat through a presentation for Vida Vacations.  Since we already own 2 other timeshares, we weren't interested in owning a 3rd. They offered us a deal. If we deeded our 2 timeshares to them, they'd use them as a tax write-off and hand them to their 3rd party partner Timeshare Resale Market to sell.  We told them one timeshare still had a loan. They said "No problem".

However, when Timeshare Resale Market (TRM) contacted us to see the timeshares, the loan was still attached to the deed. We were surprised and felt scammed.  However, TRM said we could actually keep the equity if we paid a higher up front fee than our Vida contract had stated and it would help pay off the loan.  So we did, because they said the equity value was $6 a point. Just a few days later, we learned that timeshares actually have NO equity, but $6 a point was the value IF Hilton re-sold our timeshare.  So, now we are stuck with 3 timehsares instead of our original two.  (We have submitted a separate complaint for TRM.  Vida and TRM are both complicit in saying our timeshares could be easily sold.  Both benefited from our purchases.  They are serving only each other's interests, not the interest of the buyer.
