My wife and I have had five Viewsonic computer monitors for many many years and have enjoyed their dependable, trouble-free performance.
Based on our past experience with these excellent computer monitors, when it was time to purchase a large screen HDTV, we purchased the Viewsonic N4060W 40 inch LCD HDTV, serial number PV6062100261,
from Micro Center in Dallas Texas, for about 1500 dollars.
Turns out we couldn't have been more wrong.

For about eighteen months we enjoyed this great big set and then one day, maybe a month after the warranty had expired, we turned on the set and had NO VIDEO whatsoever, just audio.

After numerous attempts to troubleshoot the product with Viewsonic's less than helpful tech support, the company told us they were under no obligation to repair the set, either under warranty or otherwise.

Feeling burned but still determined, we canvassed dozens of independent repair shops, only to find out that Viewsonic DOES NOT EVEN SUPPLY REPAIR PARTS!
None! Zero! Zip! Zilch! Nada!

That's right, if you own one of these sets and it goes kaput, you CANNOT get it repaired at any price by anyone, not even if you pay for the repairs!
The set cannot be fixed at all!
It's bad enough that the thing crapped out prematurely, but to find out that it can't be fixed under any circumstances is just pouring salt into the wounds!

Fifteen hundred dollars for a year and half worth of HDTV? Not worth it.
We've sold off all of our other Viewsonic equipment and will never consider giving another red cent of our hard earned money to this callous and arrogant company again. They should be barred from doing business in the USA altogether.
If any attorney ever puts together a class action lawsuit I would LOVE to
be a part of it. We are keeping the burned out set in the attic in the hope that someday enough burned Viewsonic customers will make a class action suit possible.
