Mayra Mendez the Adjuster sent out the Appraiser about 3 weeks later, but it's been almost 3 months and they haven't paid the property damage yet even though the amount was approved by the Claims Appraiser. The Appraiser did a fine job but it's getting the check for the property damage takes a long time. We had to get a lawyer to stay on top of it. Mayra said that people that get a lawyer have trouble collecting to deter us from getting a lawyer. First, there's property damage due. Next there's medical damage due that the lawyer is pursuing. Property damage should be paid within weeks of an accident. Not months. This is the ins. co. for the other guy that was at fault.

They finally mailed the check out but it took 2-3 months. The do pay on property but it takes awhile. You have to stay on top of it. Let's hope they pay on other issues you get involed with the co. like medical. If another driver is at fault you are entitled to your damages and medical within a reasonable timeframe after reports come in.

Even your lawyer will tell you that the insurance companies will normally wait until the very last day possible to cut your check. It says they have to PAY OUT by a specific time frame. Normally 90-120 days is the range they have to cut a check. But they will delay mailing it a few days that way they can still earn extra interest and still getting you paid.
If you have a lawyer involved then that tells me only one thing. If they are STILL dragging their feet, then they are not afraid of your lawyer. Given that these insurance companies have teams of lawyers all you are doing is SPOTLIGHTING this case. Which means they will do EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK. No shortcuts ect.
