I am work with mentally disabled adults.  One of my residents was continuously contacted on her emergency cell phone and badgered into ordering $1000.00 of magazines.  This resident has the mental understanding of a ten-year-old.

She did not comprehend what she was agreeing to or the consequences of such a large amount of money.  She is on an extremely limited income, most of which goes toward her medications and living expenses.  When I attempted to explain the ramifications of these monthly charges, she still does not comprehend that she is paying real money for "the pretty pictures" that she is now getting.  She does not wish to cancel the subscriptions because then she won't get the pretty pictures any more, but she cannot pay for them.

As her resident manager, I have made numerous attempts to get this issue taken care of.  However the response from Viking is the typical, you are not on the account therefore we will not even talk to you.  When I have attempted to ascertain a number for the corporate office to speak to someone other than the service representatives, my calls are mysteriously disconnected.  Their website has no actual contact information on it and no one seems willing to assist in rectifying a seriously grievous issue.

So while this company continues to profit, this at-risk individual must now run the chance of being unable to pay for her medications or her living situation.  Someone needs to stop this madness!
