The Village Inn in Narragansett is completely unresponsive to consumer complaints. We paid about $200.00 for one night and were not able to spend the entire night because of the intense noise from a wedding reception directly under our room. We were not told about noise prior to checking in and would not have done so had we known.

We had no choice but to vacate our room at 9PM on Saturday night. The hotel desk was not authorized to change our room nor provide a refund. No manager was available to handle complaints on site. No response to a letter complaining and demanding a refund a day later. Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce could not help us because, in their words, The Village Inn already has complaints on file with them and does not respond to complaints.

A consumer complaint has been filed with the Rhode Island Attorney General, and that complaint is still pending. The Inn looks as though it might have been a good hotel at one time, but now is in need of renovations. It looks and feels pretty shabby. There is insufficient parking; for $200.00 we were unable to find a place to park in the lot. Despite all our efforts to elicit a response from management, no one there has even acknowledged our request for satisfaction. This place is really bad news for anyone who is looking for a good experience at the ocean. Stay away!!!
