I purchased a vehicle from Village Motors and was specifically told it was in excellent running condition. About 24 hours after i purchased it my transmission failed completely and my alternator and air conditioning started to fail as well. I immediately called and was told too bad.....you bought it "As-Is". I hate to see the world come to this! Everyone beware!!!!! These guys can not be trusted. You are definitely on your own when doing business with these guys. Ethics and simply doing the right thing is not going to happen with Mark Howard!

That's pretty much what "as is" means, wouldn't you say? If they'd wanted to stand behind the car, they would have given you a warranty.
Two things. One, if you're going to buy "as is", you need to get a mechanic to inspect it before you buy. They can spot obvious issues like the ones you had. If you decide to pass on getting it inpected, you're rolling the dice with your money Two, this is not an issue with this specific used car dealer. What you describe is common at most used car dealer that sell cars "as is" with no warranty. Something to keep in mind next time you go shopping.
